Poto Mitan: Voices of Haitian Womanhood in Miami
This event has passed.
A community photo exhibition at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex centers the voices of Haitian women as they reflect on identity, memory and resilience through their own lenses. Poto Mitan: Voices of Haitian Womanhood in Miami features work created through a photovoice project—a participatory research method that empowers individuals to share lived experiences through photography and personal storytelling.
Presented by FANM and Sant La in collaboration with Florida International University, the event takes place Thursday, June 26. The evening begins with a project presentation at 6:00 p.m., followed by participant awards at 7:00 p.m. and a gallery viewing and reception from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., featuring Haitian music and refreshments. Free venue parking is available. Guests under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
