Starting: 8:00 PM
A live concert celebrating the golden age of Cuban music brings mid-century Havana’s sound to the stage at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables. Taking place Saturday, April 4, Feeling Havana presents a tribute to the 1950s, highlighting the artists and styles that defined the era’s musical identity.
The program features vocalists Emilio Frías, Miriam Mar and Ramón Álvarez performing alongside a big band–style orchestra. Together, they interpret songs associated with influential figures such as Benny Moré, Celia Cruz, La Lupe, Vicentico Valdés and Miguelito Cuní. The repertoire spans genres including bolero, son, mambo and Afro-Cuban music, reflecting the range and cultural significance of the period.
Presented by Pro-Arte, the performance offers a concert experience rooted in Cuban musical tradition, with arrangements designed to evoke the style and atmosphere of Havana’s mid-20th-century nightlife and performance scene.
