Public Art Tour: International Women's Day
Mar 08, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to noon
A special edition of the Miami Design District’s Public Art Tour marks International Women’s Day with a focused look at a major contemporary installation.
Public Art Tour: International Women’s Day takes place Sunday, March 8 at 11 a.m., beginning in Palm Court. This hour-long walking tour centers on Katie Stout’s Design Commission, Gargantua’s Thumb, exploring the artist’s approach to scale, material and playful reinterpretations of form within the public realm.
The tour will be led by Miami gallerist Nina Johnson, founder of her namesake gallery and a longtime advocate for contemporary artists. Along the way, participants will gain insight into the Design District’s broader public art program and the role of commissioned works in shaping the neighborhood’s cultural identity.
Admission is free; advance registration is recommended.
