Quarterly Walk for Health
May 31, 2025
From: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Start your Saturday with fresh air, light exercise and a sense of community as residents gather for a morning walk and run focused on health and wellness.
The Quarterly Walk for Health, presented by City of Miami Gardens Vice Mayor Robert Stephens, III, takes place on Saturday, May 31 at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex. Participants are invited to walk at their own pace around the complex’s track, offering a low-impact opportunity to engage in physical activity while connecting with neighbors. The walk is part of an ongoing initiative led by Councilman Stephens to raise awareness about health concerns affecting the local community.
For those interested in a more active experience, The Running Edge—an organization founded by Ashley Toussaint to promote healthy lifestyles through neighborhood-based group runs—will lead a 3-mile run starting and ending at the complex. Open to runners of all experience levels, the session includes tips and encouragement designed to support long-term fitness goals.
The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable athletic shoes and bring water.
