Pay respects to the dearly departed on Fete Gede, Haitian Day of the Dead, with a performance by RAM, a mizik rasin (roots music) powerhouse Haitian band and voudou rock legend. NSL Danse Ensemble and DJ Krazy Mix will be opening for the headliner ending with post-show set by Rara Lakay.

RAM's music is a blend of folkloric polyrhythms, punk guitar riffs, Caribbean dance melodies, drums, and rara horns. Bandleader Richard Morse, a third generation musician whose mother was revered Haitian folk singer Emerante de Pradines, began his musical career playing in a New Wave band in 1970s New York City’s CBGB scene. Upon returning to Haiti, Morse took over the Oloffson Hotel where he continued his musical explorations with the hotel’s in-house musicians and founded RAM. Since then, for nearly 30 years, RAM has been playing groundbreaking Haitian music and building fans at home and worldwide. The band's release for Kanaval is an annual highlight in Haiti. RAM has also become a featured part of Krewe du Kanaval, a New Orleans-based project by Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Regine Chassagne with the iconic Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Food & beverage are available for purchase at the show.
