Rickenbacker Causeway Coastal Cleanup
Jun 21, 2025 - Aug 16, 2025
monthly on the 3rd Saturday
From: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Spend your Saturday morning helping to protect South Florida’s marine environment by volunteering at a shoreline cleanup along Rickenbacker Causeway. This monthly effort focuses on removing microplastics and trash from the Virginia Key South shoreline near Hobie Island Beach Park, a scenic area just across from MAST Academy.
The Rickenbacker Causeway Coastal Cleanup takes place every 3rd Saturday at Hobie Island Beach Park. Volunteers will be provided with gloves and trash bags, though bringing reusable gloves is encouraged to help reduce waste. Youth under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants should wear closed-toed shoes, bring sun protection, and carry a refillable water bottle. Community service hours are available by request following the event.
This initiative is supported by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as part of its “Naturally Better” program, which reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to responsible environmental and community stewardship. Advance registration is required through ParkLink.
