Sacred Sound and Movement

Breathwork, free-form dance and live sound come together in an interactive program exploring movement, rhythm and contemplative practice. Presented Saturday, October 10 by FIU’s Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, the session begins with guided breathing and visualization before moving into ecstatic dance led by a live DJ.

The program then transitions into a sound bath featuring gong, quartz crystal bowls, flute, saxophone and other instruments. Facilitators include DJ Erik Lieux, sound practitioner Rich Gausman, breathwork guide Jaret Brooks, musician Doug Tessler, dance facilitator Nia Lange and Jordon DeMercado.

Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat and water bottle. Each attendee will also receive a crystal gemstone to take home.
