ScreenDance Miami: Festival Kick-Off
Jan 21, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM | Doors Open: 6:30 PM
Dance and cinema converge outdoors with an opening night that sets the tone for a weeklong celebration of movement on screen.
ScreenDance Miami: Festival Kick-Off takes place Wednesday, January 21 at the Miami Beach Bandshell on Miami Beach. Presented as the opening event of ScreenDance Miami Festival 2026, the evening features two film screenings shown in the Bandshell’s open-air setting, with food and beverages available for purchase.
The program includes Through (2024), an 18-minute Canadian documentary by Monique Léger and Béatriz Médiavilla, followed by Si C’était De L’amour (If It Was Love) (2020), an 82-minute French feature by Patric Chiha in collaboration with choreographer Gisèle Vienne. Together, the films explore choreography, performance, and human connection through distinct cinematic approaches.
The screening launches ScreenDance Miami Festival 2026, an award-winning annual event recognized by Miami New Times that presents 24 films from six countries, including short and feature-length works, open-call selections and invited screenings. Held each January at venues across Miami, the festival also includes artist panels and workshops supporting innovation at the intersection of dance and film.
