Drawing inspiration from the Wolfsonian’s collection, Rotterdam-based designer and artist Bas van Beek makes his US debut with a colorful exhibition of pattern and design featuring re-interpreted historic design pieces and immersive installations. Among the highlights of Van Beek’s new works are a Wolfsonian-commissioned tapestry inspired by Wilhelm Poetter’s modernist textile patterns, a 3D-printed teakettle based on a Wolfsonian collection design drawing and Verner Patton-Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired supersized wall tiles. The exhibit also features highlights of Van Beek’s prior works for art institutions in the Netherlands.
