Shen Yun 2027: China Before Communism
Feb 05, 2027 - Feb 07, 2027
Daily through Feb 07, 2027
Friday - Saturday: 7:30 PM | Saturday - Sunday: 2:00 PM
Classical Chinese dance, live orchestral music and animated backdrops bring stories from Chinese history, mythology and cultural traditions to the Adrienne Arsht Center. Shen Yun returns February 5–7 with four performances of its 2027 touring program, presented by the FaLun DaFa Association of Florida. The company creates a new production each year while continuing its broader focus on traditional Chinese culture and spiritual heritage.
Founded in New York in 2006, Shen Yun Performing Arts is known primarily for classical Chinese dance, supplemented by ethnic and folk dances, vocal and instrumental solos and short narrative works. Performances are accompanied by a live orchestra that combines Western symphonic instrumentation with traditional Chinese instruments, while projected digital scenery interacts with the choreography onstage.
The approximately two-hour program consists of a succession of short pieces drawing on historical figures, legends, regional traditions and stories from both ancient and contemporary China. New choreography, original music, costumes and scenic projections are developed for each annual edition.
