Saxophonist Simon Mogul leads a live jazz concert celebrating the release of his new album while honoring the historic legacy of the Green Book.
Simon Says: Album Release Tour & Green Book Legacy Celebration takes place Thursday, February 19 at IPC Art Space in Little Haiti, featuring Mogul alongside an ensemble of acclaimed jazz musicians. The performance is part of the Simon Says album release tour and is supported by South Arts through its Jazz Roads Tour program. Joining Mogul are Jacob Smith on drums, Marc Payne on piano and Curtis Lundy on bass, forming a multigenerational group rooted in contemporary jazz expression.
The concert is presented in dialogue with the exhibition Children of the Revolution | Hijos de la Revolución, featuring photographs by Marice Cohn Band curated by Carl-Philippe Juste. The program references the Green Book, the historic travel guide that helped Black artists and travelers navigate segregated America, framing jazz as both a living musical practice and a cultural force shaped by resilience, mobility and community.
