Smoke and Meters: A Mezcal Tasting & Poetry Workshop
This event has passed.
An evening of tasting and creative exploration invites participants to turn sensory impressions into poetry at Conventillo.
Smoke and Meters: A Mezcal Tasting & Poetry Workshop takes place Tuesday, November 18, blending guided mezcal sampling with an ekphrastic writing session led by poet Laura Gill. Guests will taste three mezcals, each tied to a particular region and tradition, and use those flavors, aromas and textures as inspiration for original poems.
Presented by O, Miami, the workshop continues the spirit of the organization’s Lines for Wine series, offering a relaxed setting for both seasoned writers and newcomers to experiment with sensory-based writing. After the session, attendees are welcome to stay for cocktails from Conventillo’s drink menu or bites from Battubelin. Proceeds support O, Miami’s year-round poetry programming.
