Haitian konpa band Djakout #1 returns to Little Haiti for a live performance at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, marking the group’s first appearance at the monthly series in more than seven years. The September installment of Sounds of Little Haiti takes place Friday, September 18, bringing the longstanding community event together around Haitian music, food and dancing.
Djakout #1 is known for a dance-driven konpa sound that has made the band a longstanding presence in Haitian popular music. The performance anchors an evening that also includes food, cocktails and the communal atmosphere associated with the recurring Little Haiti series.
