Summer with the Symphony: Romantic Revelry
Jun 12, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Romantic-era lyricism and impressionistic textures come together in this chamber concert exploring the emotional richness of 19th- and early 20th-century music. Performed by South Florida Symphony Orchestra musicians, the evening offers an intimate program of works by Florence Price, Claude Debussy and Franz Schubert.
Summer with the Symphony: Romantic Revelry takes place on Thursday, June 12 at Coral Gables Museum. The program opens with Price’s expressive Fantasie No. 1 in G minor, followed by Debussy’s rarely performed Piano Trio in G major and Schubert’s expansive Piano Trio in E-flat major. Featured performers include violinist Huifang Chen, cellist Claudio Jaffe, and pianist Catherine Lan. A post-concert meet-and-greet with the musicians will follow the performance.
This is the second concert in South Florida Symphony Orchestra’s Summer with the Symphony series. A 50% discount is available for Coral Gables residents attending the first concert, Moonlight Serenade, with code GABLES, though the discount does not apply to the full series package.
