Summer with the Symphony: The Titans
Jul 24, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Powerful works by two musical giants take the spotlight in the concluding performance of a summer chamber series dedicated to intimate, expressive repertoire. Set in the Coral Gables Museum, this concert brings together musicians from the South Florida Symphony Orchestra for an evening of striking contrasts and nuanced ensemble interplay.
Summer with the Symphony: The Titans takes place on Thursday, July 24. The program pairs J.S. Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor—noted for its driving energy and lyrical central movement—with Dvořák’s String Quintet No. 2, a richly layered piece that fuses folk-inspired themes with romantic expression. Featured performers include Huifang Chen (violin), Erika Venable (violin), Brandon Wu (viola), Claudio Jaffe (cello), Amy Nickler (bass) and Catherine Lan (piano). A post-concert meet-and-greet with the musicians will follow the performance.
This event marks the finale of the South Florida Symphony Orchestra’s Summer with the Symphony chamber series, which also included Moonlight Serenade in May and Romantic Revelry in June. Tickets and further information are available through the South Florida Symphony ticket portal or by calling (954) 522-8445.
