Sunday Stories: Celebrate Haitian Heritage Month
May 04, 2025
From: 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Join the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) for a special Sunday Stories program celebrating Haitian culture and history.
On Sunday, May 4, the event will feature a fun and educational session for children to engage with Haitian heritage. The program includes a read-aloud of Haiti A to Z: A Bilingual ABC Book about the Pearl of the Antilles, written by M.J. Fievre. This illustrated book offers an introduction to Haiti’s rich traditions, landmarks and people, exploring the country from A to Z. Following the reading, participants will have the opportunity to create their own flag collages, allowing them to express what they've learned through a hands-on art project.
This event is part of MOCA’s Sunday Stories series, which is sponsored by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency. Designed for early childhood development, the series fosters reading, motor skill development and socialization. It also provides an opportunity for children to bond with their parents while engaging in creative activities.
