Sweat Records & Black Miami-Dade: Overtown's Panama Francis takes place Saturday, July 19 and features historian Nadege Green sharing how Francis rose from Miami’s Black community to perform with icons such as Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald. Part of a three-part series commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance, this all-ages program celebrates the contributions of Black musicians who helped shape American music.
