Curated by Mahara Martinez, this captivating exhibition features a curated selection of 15 internationally talented artists who explore queer aesthetics and challenge social norms.
Take Me, Take This aims to embrace diverse queer narratives and promote dialogue around art, gender, and sexuality from the perspective of LGBTQ+ art practices. This group exhibit features works by Baevy, Marco Caridad, Mabelin Castellanos, Enrique Cirino, Nia DeIndias, Mara Faundez, Andreina Fuentes, Davis Gary Lloyd, Nathali Lorenzo, Robert Louis, Robert Posner, Luis Quintanal, William Riera, Denis Rovinskiy, and Javi Vargas. Each artist brings a unique perspective to the exhibition, creating a diverse and thought-provoking collection.
One of the exhibition's highlights is a collaboration with the Stonewall National Museum & Archives. Artist Marco Caridad presents a queer library art installation, shedding light on overlooked documents and literature integral to LGBTQ+ history. This installation aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community.
The opening will take place on June 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at MIFA.
