NASCAR Cup Championship Weekend
Nov 06, 2026 - Nov 08, 2026
The crowning race of the NASCAR Cup Series returns to Miami November 6-8, 2026, when NASCAR Championship Weekend takes over the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead. A new champion will be crowned after 400 miles of high-speed stock car action, but the season’s culminating race is only part of the fun. Two other NASCAR championships will also be decided in Homestead, making this one of the year’s top sports events in Miami. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Championship weekend in Miami.
What is NASCAR Cup Series Championship?
The NASCAR Cup Series Championship is the final race of the NASCAR season, which begins in February at the Daytona 500. The season consists of 36 races: 26 in the regular season and 10 in The Chase. The Chase is NASCAR’s version of the playoffs, in which the top 16 drivers from the regular season compete for the NASCAR Cup championship, amassing points over the season’s final 10 races. Homestead-Miami Speedway hosts the final race, where the new champion is crowned. The stakes in Miami are high, setting up the most dramatic race of the year.
NASCAR also has two other series with championship races during the weekend: The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Their championship races happen on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
NASCAR Cup Series Championship Miami Weekend Schedule
NASCAR Cup Series Championship weekend kicks off Friday with the Craftsman Truck Series Championship race at 7:30 p.m. The 200-mile race features modified pickup trucks racing at up to 180 miles per hour around Homestead-Miami Speedway’s 1.5-mile oval.
On Saturday, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series caps off its season with a championship race at 5 pm. This is your chance to catch the NASCAR stars of tomorrow as they race 300 miles over three race stages.
Sunday, November 8 brings the main event of the weekend, the NASCAR Cup Series Championship. The race begins at 3 p.m., as the sport’s top drivers take to the track to determine the series champion. Because the Cup Series is based on points, the race’s winning driver may not necessarily also be the Cup champion, so there will be plenty to watch out for over the race’s 400 miles.
Drive a real NASCAR at the NASCAR Racing Experience
If watching a weekend of NASCAR excitement gives you the itch to try stock car racing yourself, head back to the Speedway on Monday, November 9 for the NASCAR Racing Experience. After a training session, you’ll jump inside a real NASCAR for a trip around the track, with a spotter guiding you along the way. You can also choose a ride-along, where you’ll take a lap while riding alongside a professional driver.
Tickets for NASCAR Cup Championship Weekend in Miami
NASCAR offers several ticket options for its championship weekend. Grandstand reserved seating is available along the track’s straightaways, offering an up-close look at the race’s fastest moments. Both three-day and individual-race tickets are available for purchase in advance.
Ramp up your grandstand seats with access to the Ride The Wall Cantina. Available for Sunday’s championship race only, the Cantina sits right on the wall at Turn 1 and offers unlimited food; unlimited wine, beer and soda; and one free Jose Cuervo cocktail for all ticket holders. Note that a separate ticket for the Cantina is required.
For a more elevated experience (literally) fans can choose seats in the Speedway Terrace. This outdoor terrace with stadium-style seats sits right atop the Start/Finish line, with exclusive food and drinks, and one of the best views at the Speedway.
The Ally Champions Club is like the Speedway’s luxury suite, an air-conditioned oasis eight stories above Turn 1. Tickets include unlimited food and drinks, as well as preferred parking and reserved outdoor seats. You’ll also get pre-race access to Pit Road, and access to the infield celebration when the race is over.
The Ally Pit Box is as close to being in the race as you can get without a racing suit. The infield’s only hospitality area sits right above Pit Road, with unlimited food and drinks, as well as VIP access to Pit Road before the race. Pit Box tickets also include preferred parking, and air-conditioned, indoor seating.
Other fun at the NASCAR Cup Championship
Attending the NASCAR Cup Championship in Miami can be more than simply watching the race. NASCAR offers several add-ons to enhance your race day experience. Before the race, fans can opt for a pre-race pass, which allows access to pre-race ceremonies and driver introductions. Fans can also rent radio scanners, which allow you to listen in live with the racing teams during the race. Or opt for the ultimate race day VIP experience with NASCAR One fueled by Elevate, where fans can tour race team garages, wander Pit Road and meet their favorite drivers.
Camping and Tailgating at NASCAR Cup Championship Weekend Miami
Camping is a time honored NASCAR tradition, and those who bring their RVs to Homestead will find two RV parking areas outside the speedway. Move-in starts on Tuesday, November 3 for reserved spaces and unreserved areas. Both offer showers, pump-out service, water deliveries and 24-hour security. Tent camp sites are also available in the RV lots. Inside the Speedway, the lone RV lot is the Turn 2 Premium RV lot, though it is currently sold out.
Whether you’re camping or not, all fans can reserve their own tailgating space on the infield by purchasing tailgating tickets. Each space is 20’ x 30’ with enough room for eight guests. The BYOB experience gives you a front-row look at the action, where you can keep the party going throughout the race.
Parking at Homestead-Miami Speedway
For those not camping at the Speedway, ample onsite parking is available. You can purchase parking passes for individual races or the entire weekend.
