Australian-born jazz pianist Tal Cohen leads a dynamic ensemble performance on the lawn as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series. The Tal Cohen Quartet performs Sunday, March 22 at Lummus Park on Miami Beach.
Cohen is an internationally touring pianist known for blending modern jazz with Middle Eastern melodic influences and intricate rhythmic phrasing. A winner of the Detroit Jazz Festival’s Barry Harris National Piano Competition, he has performed with acclaimed artists including Terence Blanchard, Joe Lovano, Greg Osby and Ignacio Berroa, while leading his own ensembles at festivals and venues around the world. His album Gentle Giants received international acclaim and a four-star review from DownBeat magazine.
Presented by the Ocean Drive Association, the free outdoor concert begins at 5 p.m. in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair for seating on the grass. In case of rain, the performance will move indoors to The Betsy Hotel.
The Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series takes place every Sunday and is generously supported by the City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Ocean Drive Association.
