The Hidden Faces of Venice
Mar 03, 2026
From: 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM
A series of evocative photographs capturing the pageantry and mystique of the Carnival of Venice comes to the waterfront at Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay.
The Hidden Faces of Venice, a photography exhibition by Nelson Alvarez presented by Gato Gordo Gallery, opens with a reception on Tuesday, March 3. The exhibition remains on view through April 6, 2026.
Shot amid the grandeur of Venice’s iconic carnival, Alvarez’s images reveal masked figures suspended between anonymity and revelation. Through dramatic lighting, saturated color and intimate framing, the work explores themes of identity, transformation and performance against the ornate backdrop of one of Europe’s most storied celebrations.
The opening reception offers an opportunity to view the collection, meet fellow art enthusiasts and experience the exhibition in a relaxed waterfront setting. Admission is free and open to the public.
