Foodie alert: the 7th Annual SEED Food & Wine Week will take place throughout Greater Miami & Miami Beach November 3-7, 2021. What can you expect? Creative and satisfying dishes that are 100 percent plant-based and equally delicious. The first all-vegan food festival of its kind in the U.S., the event brings together vegan chefs, plant-based food innovators and other culinary and health leaders for five days of vegan fare, refreshing adult beverages and mindfulness practices.
From interesting discussions and over-the-top burger feasts to yoga workshops and guided meditation sessions, heres what to expect over the course of this fun and stylish celebration of plant-based food and drink.
Vegetable Kingdom November 3, 7-10 p.m., $195
Kick off the week in style at celebrity chef Marcus Samuelssons buzzy restaurant, Red Rooster Overtown. This event brings author and chef Bryant Terry, who wrote the acclaimed book Vegetable Kingdom, to the restaurant for an evening that will feature passed appetizers, craft cocktails and a seated five-course dinner complete with wine pairings. Attendees will also take home a copy of the book and plenty of food for thought.
Fifth Annual Plant-Based Burger Battle November 4, 7-10 p.m., $55-$85
From hearty and sophisticated offerings from the likes of Beyond and Impossible to patties blending together lentils, black beans and other whole-food ingredients, plant-based burgers are showing up on menus everywhere. This cook-off brings chefs from across the country to Space Park Miami for an over-the-top showcase of the endless possibilities when it comes to vegan burgers. Pair yours with craft beer, kombucha and if you have room dessert. A panel of celebrity judges will decide the winner. Queen of Kings will perform live music as you savor plant-based burgers.
SEED Summit Presented by VegNews November 5, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., $50
Spend the day gaining insights from some of the biggest thought leaders in the vegan space, from influencers and content creators to entrepreneurs and nutrition experts. Hear panel discussions and take part in workshops exploring vegan living, sustainability and more and connect with like-minded people. The days events will take place at The Sacred Space. Attendees will be served an organic, plant-based breakfast and lunch.
New York State of Mind Dinner November 5, 7-10 p.m., $150
Join Michelin Star chefs Jeremiah Stone and Fabian Von Hauske and Top Chef contender Ilan Hall for an exclusive evening of mouthwatering food and perfectly paired wine at 1 Hotel South Beachs stylish restaurant, Habitat. The restaurants executive chef, David Henriquez, is also participating. Expect plenty of culinary innovation over the course of this entirely plant-based dining experience.
SEED Festival Day Tasting Village November 6, noon-7 p.m., $55-$85
Experience an extravaganza of plant-based food, drink and more at this day-long fest at Regatta Park featuring more than 100 vendors, including restaurants, bakeries, craft beer makers and wineries. See cooking demos by celebrity chefs, squeeze in a workout at the wellness stage, explore cruelty-free fashion and savor a brew in the beer garden. Bonus: The event is dog-friendly (theres even a Yappie Lounge).
Bloom Brunch Yoga & Meditation Presented by Florida Crystals November 7, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m., $50
The perfect end to an epic vegan fest, this event brings together yoga, meditation and brunch for the best Sunday fun-day ever at The Sacred Space. It begins with a yoga session thats followed by guided meditation. Then, dig into a vegan, chef-created brunch, complete with kombucha and iconic brunch cocktails like Bellinis.
Meet the Talent
Take part in this meeting-of-the-plant-based-minds, and youll rub elbows with some of the most prolific vegan thought leaders. Hear from the likes of Dr. Michael Klapper, one of the foremost experts in plant-based nutrition, athletes such as former NBA star John Salley, vegan author and chef Mary Mattern, VegNews cofounder Colleen Holland and many others as they share their views during panel discussions and other events over the course of the week.
