The United States Marine Band

Patriotic works, orchestral transcriptions and contemporary repertoire come to UM Gusman Concert Hall in a free performance by “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. The concert takes place Thursday, October 15, as part of Frost Music Live’s 2026-2027 season and brings one of the country’s longest-running professional ensembles to the University of Miami campus.

Founded in 1798, the Marine Band is the nation’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization and has performed for every U.S. president since Thomas Jefferson. Its concert programs draw on a broad repertoire, combining ceremonial traditions with symphonic works, transcriptions and music by contemporary composers.

The visit also includes an educational component with Frost School of Music students, creating opportunities for mentorship and artistic exchange alongside the public performance. Admission is free with RSVP.
