Third Thursdays: The Bass Dialogues with Lawrence Lek
Feb 19, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
A conversation on artificial intelligence, authorship and emotion anchors this installment of The Bass’ Third Thursday series, featuring artist Lawrence Lek in dialogue around his newly commissioned work.
The Bass Dialogues with Lawrence Lek centers on Lawrence Lek: NOX Pavilion, a multimedia installation that explores artificial intelligence as both subject and storyteller. The discussion examines ethical and cultural questions surrounding narrative, simulation and the shifting boundaries between human and machine, drawing from Lek’s practice at the intersection of video games, cinema and speculative futures.
Taking place Thursday, February 19, this program is part of Third Thursdays at The Bass on Miami Beach, a monthly series that brings together storytelling, poetry, historical inquiry, community conversations and one-night-only installations. The evening coincides with the City of Miami Beach Culture Crawl and includes access to free trolley service connecting participating cultural venues.
Third Thursdays are free with RSVP and supported by the Art Bridges Foundation Access for All Program. Seating and standing room are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
