Trolley Tour: in(ter)vals
Jan 24, 2026
Starting: 10:00 AM
A guided trolley tour offers a structured way to experience site-responsive contemporary artworks installed across public and semi-public spaces throughout Coral Gables.
Trolley Tour: in(ter)vals takes place Saturday, January 24 at 10 a.m. Advance RSVP is required, and attendees should confirm participation by emailing ccathers@coralgables.com, where additional logistics will be shared.
The tour centers on in(ter)vals, a public art initiative that places contemporary artworks in dialogue with uncharacteristic or overlooked sites across the city. The project invites artists to respond to architectural rhythms, transitional spaces and the everyday flow of Coral Gables, creating moments where art subtly interrupts familiar environments.
Participating artists include Ricardo Alcaide, whose work explores geometric abstraction and urban memory through construction materials; Pepe Mar, known for layered textile-based works that excavate cultural histories; Emil Lukas, presenting a thread-based work that plays with perception and light; Marielle Plaisir, whose sculptural practice addresses identity, power and resilience; and Troy Simmons, whose biomorphic forms draw from research into organic growth and speculative futures.
Artworks are installed at several Coral Gables sites, including The Plaza, Hotel Colonnade, Aloft Coral Gables and H. George Fink Studio. The project is presented in partnership with Piero Atchugarry Gallery, David Castillo Gallery, Fredric Snitzer Gallery and Mindy Solomon Gallery on behalf of von Bartha, with sponsorship support from the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.
