Typewriter Dreams: Teen Poetry Open Mic

Vintage typewriters offer teens a starting point for writing poetry before taking their words to the stage. Part of Miami Book Fair, Typewriter Dreams: Teen Poetry Open Mic takes place Friday, November 20 at the Off the Shelf Stage on Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus.

Host Oscar Fuentes, known as The Biscayne Poet, guides and encourages participants as they create poems and share them at the mic. Live music, DJs and spoken-word performances round out the program, with guest singer-songwriter and poet Flor Ana performing original songs and reading her poetry.

Admission is free.
