Vibes from the Vault

An evening of music and social gathering at the Historic Lyric Theater highlights classic sounds drawn directly from archival vinyl recordings.

Vibes from the Vault takes place Friday, February 20 at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex. Presented by The Black Archives, the event centers on a live vinyl DJ set by DJ H2 the Vibesetter, who spins selections from the institution’s record collection spanning soul, funk and other foundational genres tied to Black musical history.

The program extends beyond the dance floor with a cigar bar presented by Black Smoke, a cash bar offering cocktails and casual lounge seating throughout the venue. Board and card games are also available, encouraging conversation and informal interaction alongside the music.

The event begins at 8 p.m. and uses the historic setting of the Lyric Theater to frame an evening focused on sound, atmosphere and cultural memory.
