Explore the raw power and enduring influence of one of architecture's most distinctive movements through the lens of contemporary artists and designers. Visions of Brutalism, yesterday, today & tomorrow opens with a VIP reception on Saturday, February 1 from 6-9 p.m. at the Doral Contemporary Art Museum's (DORCAM) Pop-Up Exhibition Space in CityPlace Doral.
This immersive exhibition, presented in collaboration with the InterAmerican Design Association, brings together works by ten prominent artists including Gustavo Acosta, Nestor Arenas and Aandrés Cabrera, Iván Castillo, Alberto Cavalieri, Alexis Cogul, Ismael Gómez-Peralta, Cristian Magaldi, Flor Mayoral and Rafa Muci, each offering their unique interpretation of Brutalism's impact on art and design.
Throughout February, the exhibition is complemented by a series of panel discussions featuring architects, artists and design professionals. The talks begin with an Introduction to Brutalism on opening night, followed by sessions exploring the Marine Stadium and the work of Jesús Terreiro. These conversations provide deeper insights into Brutalism's influence on Miami's architectural landscape and its continuing relevance in contemporary design.
