Walk for Peace & Picnic

A guided meditation, community walk and nature-based picnic mark the International Day of Peace with activities rooted in reflection and shared intention. Presented by Patch of Heaven Sanctuary, the gathering takes place Sunday, September 20, beginning at Wat Buddharangsi Buddhist Temple. Resident monks will welcome participants for a guided meditation before leading a peaceful walk to Patch of Heaven Sanctuary.
At Patch, the program continues with a picnic, fresh cacao tea, a restorative sound bath and a Peace Medallion painting activity using recycled wood. Each completed medallion will become part of the sanctuary’s Peace Tree, an ongoing community installation that gathers messages of hope, compassion and kindness.
The event is part of Patch of Heaven Sanctuary’s annual observance of the International Day of Peace, which the United Nations established as a global day devoted to peace and nonviolence. After the closing activities, participants may explore the sanctuary’s forest paths or take a complimentary shuttle back to Wat Buddharangsi Buddhist Temple.
