We Met at Secret Movie Night returns on Sunday, August 10, at the German American Social Club of Greater Miami. Hosted by We Met in Miami and Miami Moviegoers, this annual gathering offers a unique twist: attendees vote on the film upon arrival, using a playful, swipe-style format to choose from a selection of secret titles. The winning pick is then screened outdoors under the stars.
Designed for adults 21 and over, the evening includes guided icebreakers, post-film small group discussions and a casual after-party. Guests can wear color-coded wristbands to indicate whether they're looking for love, friendship or LGBTQIA+ community, while connection cards help spark conversations that continue beyond the event.
Food and drinks are available for purchase, including empanadas, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and candy. Admission is based on a suggested donation of $10, and parking is free. Doors open at 5 p.m. for check-in, mingling and film voting. The movie begins at 6, followed by a group photo, themed discussions and socializing until 10.
