Weird Miami Tour: Spring Break
May 24, 2025
From: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Embark on a journey where memory and sound intertwine as former art collective members revisit the creative spaces that once defined Miami's independent art scene. This guided experience transforms familiar locations into portals of remembrance, where past artistic interventions echo into the present through carefully curated interactions and storytelling.
Weird Miami Tour: the end / Spring Break takes place Saturday, May 24 at Simpson Park. Led by artists and curators Domingo Castillo Flores and Patricia Margarita Hernández, the tour resurrects elements of their former collective, the end / SPRING BREAK, which was active from 2010 to 2015.
Setting this cultural excursion apart, Bas Fisher Invitational (BFI) presents their first-ever tour aboard a party bus, with complimentary drinks included in the ticket price. This mobile format allows participants to travel between significant sites that shaped Miami's cultural landscape during a formative period in the city's art history.
As the second installment in BFI's Weird Miami Tour series, this non-linear exploration invites participants to experience how memory "does not unfold linearly but in echoes"—returning to meaningful locations and creative gestures that contributed to Miami's artistic development through a uniquely immersive format.
