Willy Chirino & Lissette Navidad en Familia

Holiday music, Cuban salsa and family-stage tradition come to The Fillmore Miami Beach in a concert by Willy Chirino and Lissette. The Saturday, December 5 performance features the longtime musical couple in Navidad en Familia, a seasonal program that shares its title with their 2018 holiday album. The evening brings together Christmas repertoire and music associated with two careers rooted in Cuban and Latin popular song.

Chirino, a Cuban-born, South Florida-based singer, songwriter, producer and bandleader, is closely associated with the “Miami sound” in salsa, blending Cuban musical traditions with rock, jazz, tropical music and Latin pop. His album Son del Alma won the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Salsa/Merengue Album, and his catalog includes songs such as “Soy” and “Nuestro Día (Ya Viene Llegando).”

Lissette Álvarez, daughter of the Cuban entertainment duo Olga y Tony, built a long career as a singer and performer across Latin pop, bolero, television and film. Her recordings include “Eclipse Total del Amor,” a Spanish-language version of “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Together, Chirino and Lissette have recorded duets including Amarraditos and the holiday album Navidad en Familia, giving the Miami Beach concert a seasonal, family-centered frame.
