From rooftop yoga classes to relaxing spa therapies, hotel packages and simply lounging by the pool or beach, there are so many special offers to enjoy during Miami Health & Wellness Months!

Catch a Miami City Ballet Outdoor Pop-up Performance

Miami City Ballet is getting creative with their performance venues by hosting a special outdoor pop-up series. In February, the company will perform outdoors at such exciting and beautiful locations as Vizcaya Museum & Gardens on February 5, Wynwood Walls on February 13, the Design District on Valentine’s Day, and at the Brickell Underline on February 21. Depending on the venue, their programs run anywhere from 10 to 50 minutes and feature original choreography by a wide variety of artists. Many of the performances are free, but require advanced reservation to ensure social distancing standards.

Black History Month

February is Black History Month and there are many ways to celebrate and deepen your knowledge of Black culture in Miami. The Adrienne Arsht Center’s Heritage Project series presents “The Business of Show,” a salon exploring the economic impact and cultural significance of Black trailblazers in the performing arts, on February 24 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. On February 25 at 7 p.m. via Zoom, HistoryMiami will present A Night with Delou Africa Dance ensemble, a special performance of West African dance and drumming, as well as a variety of musical stylings from the African diaspora. And for a taste of soul food inspired by Black cultures from the Caribbean to the American South, swing by the newest restaurant to hit Historic Overtown, top chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster Overtown.

SoundScape Cinema Series at New World Center

Pack a picnic and head to South Beach’s Soundscape Park at the New World Center for a socially distanced (and free!) evening at the cinema. Projected onto the symphony’s monumental 7,000-square-foot wall designed by Frank Gehry, it’s a magical way to experience movies under the stars. With screenings taking place on Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m., February’s lineup takes on a Black History Month theme with “A Ballerina’s Tale,” “Harriet,” “The Harlem Hellfighters Great War” and 2019’s live action “Lion King.”

Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Make this Valentine’s Day one to remember with a romantic celebration in Miami. You’ll find plenty of special offers at area hotels, restaurants, spas and attractions to choose from. Enjoy a romantic, multi-course meal at hotspots, such as Stripsteak by Michael Mina at the Fontainebleau or The Bazaar by Jose Andres at SLS South Beach and even a romantic evening beneath the aquarium at Frost Science. You’ll find there’s plenty of magic and romance in Miami on Valentine’s Day.

Live on the Plaza Series at Arsht Center

While gathering inside a theater for the performing arts is still worrisome for many people, the Arsht Center’s Live on the Plaza concert series brings the arts outdoors in a safe and picturesque venue in downtown Miami. These musical performances typically take place on Friday evenings. February’s lineup includes performances by Yoli Mayor, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Keba & the Usual Suspects.

Illuminate Coral Gables

Opening February 12 and running through March 14, Illuminate Coral Gables will transform the City Beautiful into an interactive art, video projection and light sculpture installation featuring works by world-renowned local, national and international artists. Enjoy this outdoor exhibition throughout the streets of Coral Gables as historic buildings and public spaces are transformed into one-of-a-kind works of art in an imaginative spin on an outdoor museum.

Secret Garden Tour of Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is home to some of Miami’s most stunning tropical flora. Experience it for yourself! The Friends of the Commodore Trail are hosting a very special way to explore six of the area’s private gardens on February 13 with a self-guided Secret Garden Tour. Whether by bicycle, scooter, golf cart or car, reserve your ticket for access to these stunning private gardens. It promises to be a unique way to spend a socially distanced afternoon out and about in Miami’s natural beauty.
