There’s no doubt that the beach is one of the greatest attractions in Greater Miami & Miami Beach. And with the destination’s miles of sandy shoreline, aquamarine water and fresh, balmy breezes, it’s no wonder that beachfront hotels are so popular with visitors.
In South Beach, arguably the most famous stretch of beach, you’ll find historic hotels and sleek, modern resorts lining Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue. Luxury resorts, including The Setai and W South Beach, have become modern-day classics. Step straight from the poolside deck to the sand, kick back on your chaise lounge and welcome the sunrise over the iconic turquoise waters at Riu Plaza Miami Beach.
The Fontainebleau Miami Beach – an iconic beachfront hotel – was designed by MiMo master Morris Lapidus in 1954. Back in the day, it was a hotspot for the Rat Pack and a filming location for one of the James Bond movies. Today, the beautifully restored resort is home to LIV, one of Miami Beach’s hottest nightclubs, as well as fine-dining restaurants and a lavish beachfront poolscape, with 11 distinct pools. Impressive beachfront pools can also be found at 1 Hotel South Beach, Faena Hotel Miami Beach and the Miami Beach EDITION.
Happily, fabulous beachfront hotels aren’t limited to Miami Beach. At the historic Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club in Surfside, which dates to 1930, a modern glass wing has been integrated into the original Mediterranean-style design. A world unto itself, The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne has multiple beachfront restaurants and a private beach with watersports.
In Sunny Isles Beach, Acqualina Resort spreads across 4.5 acres of prime beachfront featuring outdoor living room settings dotted with red couches and umbrellas, three oceanfront pools and four waterfront restaurants.
