The Miami Design Preservation League is a non-profit resource for historic preservation and enhancement of Miami Beach’s unique architectural and cultural identity. Founded in 1976, the organization is probably best known for leading the movement to preserve Miami Beach’s Art Deco buildings. Their mission though is expansive and ongoing with robust programming and resources for visitors and locals alike.
If you’re intrigued by Art Deco architecture, the Miami Design Preservation League leads guided walking tours as well as self-guided tours for visitors that prefer to explore at their own pace. A selection of group private tours, such as Lincoln Road Tour and MiMo Tour, are also offered upon request. At the Art Deco Welcome Center, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, visitors can find out all there is to know about where to go and what to do in Miami Beach. The welcome center’s building also houses the Art Deco Museum where visitors can browse year round exhibits and special events such as lectures, films and workshops.
