Bakehouse Art Complex
Business Resources
Founded in 19286, the Bakehouse Art Complex is one of Miami’s most enduring and dynamic cultural institutions: a nonprofit hub where artists create, experiment, and connect with the community. Housed in a historic 1926 Art Deco-era bakery in Wynwood Norte, Bakehouse provides affordable studios, shared workshops, exhibition space, and professional development resources to more than 100 artists each year.
For nearly four decades, Bakehouse has championed artists as essential contributors to Miami’s creative economy and civic life. It is a place where experimentation is encouraged, collaboration is fostered, and the public is invited into the artistic process. In 2026, as the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary and its historic building turns 100, Bakehouse enters a transformative new chapter. Designed by Michael Maltzan Architecture, the future Bakehouse campus will integrate affordable housing for artists and cultural workers, state-of-the-art studios and fabrication facilities, and vibrant indoor and outdoor public spaces. This ambitious evolution positions Bakehouse as a national model for artist- and community-centered development, preserving its legacy while expanding its impact.
Bakehouse is open to the public daily from 12PM to 5PM, with quarterly Open Studios events offering direct access to artists and their work. For more information, visit http://www.bacfl.org/ and follow on Instagram at @bakehouseartcomplex.
