Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery
Attractions
Tucked away in South Dade’s Redland, Schnebly Redland’s Winery stands out with its bold, tropical twist on winemaking. Instead of grapes, founder and farmer Peter Schnebly crafts his wines from South Florida’s bounty — mangos, lychees, passionfruit, guava, starfruit, coconuts, even avocados. What started as a creative experiment has grown into a full-fledged destination, now home to the Miami Brewing Co. and The Redlander Restaurant, making Schnebly’s a one-of-a-kind taste of the subtropics.
A Tropical Twist on Winemaking
Schnebly Redland’s Winery is best known for its lineup of more than 20 tropical fruit wines — a true taste of South Florida in every glass. Visitors can stop by the Grand Tasting Room to sample varieties made from lychee, passionfruit, carambola, guava, avocado, and mango, among others, each with its own bright, distinctive flavor.
Tastings are hosted by friendly staff who share insights into how local fruit is turned into wine. For a deeper look behind the scenes, guided tours of the winery and neighboring brewery are available by appointment on weekends.
Wines range from sweet to dry, each blending tropical fruit with familiar wine characteristics. Try the buttery mango wine, crisp avocado AvoVino, or sweet guava, lychee, and starfruit wines. Red wine fans can enjoy the Cat 2 and Cat 3 Hurricane blends, while bubbly lovers will love sparkling lychee or passion fruit. Sip a glass in the courtyard, take a bottle home, or join Schnebly’s wine club to enjoy tropical wines year-round.
Farm-To-Table Fare At The Redlander Restaurant
Planning to visit on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Consider making a reservation at The Redlander Restaurant at Schnebly Winery – an open-air, farm-to-table restaurant set beneath a thatched palm canopy on the lawn. The restaurant specializes in farm-fresh cuisine and local produce with a tropical Miami twist.
Sample spicy ahi tuna tacos, conch fritters or a certified Angus beef burger topped with sharp cheddar. Pair your meal with Schnebly Redland’s vast selection of wines or Miami Brewing Co.’s plethora of craft beers. There’s also a vegan menu available.
Wine, beer and farm-to-table cuisine in the lush subtropics – Peter Schnebly got it right.
Brunch And Bubbly At Schnebly Wines
Brunch time at Schnebly Wine takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you love nature and the fresh air, you’ll enjoy alfresco dining under the thatched roof next to waterfalls.
The farm-to-table menu is changed seasonally, but some current customer favorites include: the Chicken and Waffles - a southern fried chicken thigh with a Belgian waffle topped with strawberry bourbon maple syrup, the Popcorn Pork Belly served with sweet and sour and cilantro dipping sauces and the famous Caramel Churros served with vanilla ice cream. For an extra $25, you can take advantage of unlimited mimosas. Reservations are recommended.
Local Craft Beers Take Flight At Miami Brewing Co.
At the 10,000-sq.ft. Miami Brewing Co. taproom, enjoy a flight of some one-of-a-kind craft beers with clever names highlighting Miami’s culture and flavors, such as Big Rod Coconut Blonde Ale, Shark Bait Wheat Ale, and Vice IPA, along with a rotating selection of seasonal suds. Want to take home some of the delicious flavors? Ask for a growler, a 32-ounce glass container filled directly from the tap and sealed for freshness. It will stay fresh for two to three days after you open it.
If you can’t make it down to Redland for the full experience, look for Miami Brewing Co. beer on tap at many restaurants in Miami.
Weekend Vibes & Local Events
Schnebly keeps the atmosphere lively year-round with a packed calendar of events that showcases the spirit of the Redlands. On weekends, the winery comes alive with tropical live music, food, and family fun. Country nights bring a local twist — a DJ and line dancing that’s open to all ages (for an extra charge: $10 for adults, $20 for children).
Plan Your Event
Schnebly’s also opens its doors for private gatherings, from weddings to company retreats. The main building offers 5,000 square feet of space overlooking the tropical courtyard, waterfalls, and the surrounding winery. Outside, the Grand Tiki, Waterfall Tiki, and other shaded spaces add up to more than 20,000 square feet — plenty of room for a big celebration or something more low-key. The staff is used to hosting groups of all sizes, and buses are welcome, making it easy to bring everyone together in one spot surrounded by tropical gardens and good wine.
Brief History of Schnebly’s
Raised in New York’s Finger Lakes wine country, Schnebly worked in vineyards from age 13 but dreamed of the Florida Keys. He moved to Miami in the 1990s, started a fruit-packing business, and eventually farmed 100 acres of fruit. Frustrated with wasted produce, he teamed up with a boutique winemaker and crafted his first fruit wine in 2004. Schnebly Redland’s Winery opened the following year, and in 2012 he added Miami Brewing Co. to his tropical paradise—an escape from the noise, traffic, and cement of everyday life.
This winery in Miami's Redland tropical countryside offers tours and wine tastings around natural coral waterfalls surrounded by lush tropical foliage. Visitors can compare the taste of lychee, passion fruit, carambola, guava and mango wines, just to name a few. This is the southernmost winery in the Continental U.S., handcrafting tropical wines without using grapes. The Grand Tasting Room has a Southern plantation agricultural style. The building is 5,000 square feet and has a view of the tropical courtyard, waterfalls, winery and Grand Tiki, Waterfall Tiki and more than 20,000 square feet of connecting Tikis. They host weddings and corporate retreats. Buses are welcome.
