Miami Lakes Guide

Miami Lakes Insider Guide

By Andrea Garaycoa - August 21, 2026

Situated in the northwest part of Greater Miami and Miami Beach, Miami Lakes is a pleasant residential area, home to beautiful green spaces, a historic golf course and a central hub full of shopping, dining and entertainment. Named for the 32 lakes that dot the area, it’s a haven for outdoor recreation and community. Uncover the very best of this inviting destination.

    Main Street

An exploration of Miami Lakes should start on Main Street, where you'll find most of the local restaurants, shops and entertainment. Stroll along brick-paved walkways beneath leafy shade trees, past classic streetlamps, and stop to shop, dine or enjoy an ice cream by the water fountain.

Located on Main Street, the Miami Lakes Farmers Market is an especially nice place to enjoy with friends and family.  It happens weekly on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Miami Lakes Golf Club

One of Miami Lakes’ most popular attractions is the Miami Lakes Golf Club. Originally designed by Bill Watts in 1962, this 18-hole, Par 72 championship course has been a must-visit for decades. Boasting over 500 acres of tree-shaded greens, this semi-private golf club is also home to a driving range, practice areas and a pro shop. Private and group lessons by trusted golf pros are also available.

    Miami Lakes Hotel on Main

To truly immerse yourself in Miami Lakes life, check into the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main to be in the heart of the action. An independent hotel and a cornerstone of the Miami Lakes community, the hotel has a reputation for exceptional service, delighting both leisure and business travelers alike. The beautifully landscaped grounds include water features and lush foliage anchored by a central pool. Guests also enjoy access to the Miami Lakes Athletic Club.

The hotel is home to ML Steaks + Sports, a relaxed restaurant with multiple flat-screen TVs flanking a bustling sports bar. The menu features salads, chicken wings, Tex-Meg egg rolls, loaded nachos, juicy cheeseburgers and sandwiches. Situated in the heart of Main Street, the hotel places travelers at the very best of the destination.

    Korner67

Located on Main Street, Korner67 serves an eclectic menu of upscale, tapas-inspired dishes with flavors from around the world. Start with the truffle shiitake croquettes served with aioli, savor escargots in classic French parsley-garlic butter or share a fresh Greek salad.

    Chela’s

A hub of the Miami Lakes social scene, Chela’s is an indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar for cocktails, beer and crave-worthy Mexican cuisine. The expansive patio features pink picnic tables set against a tropical mural-painted wall for a convivial gathering place that’s especially popular at happy hour. It feels like a party every night here with DJ-fueled brunch parties, Taco Tuesday specials, karaoke on Wednesdays, salsa on Fridays and more.

    Santa Diabla

Chela’s is also home to the speakeasy Santa Diabla. Open Thursday through Saturday nights by reservation only, this secret, sexy spot is perfect for date night or a girl’s night out. The intimate space is part-social club, part-cocktail lounge with an air of exclusivity for creative cocktails and tapas-style small plates.

    Amazonia Nikkei

Amazonia Nikkei is one of the hottest spots in Miami Lakes for a night out. Dishing up sumptuous Nikkei cuisine, a blend of Peruvian and Japanese culinary traditions, in a stylish setting, prepare to feast on an inventive menu of sushi, tiradito, ceviche and izayaka. Highlights include scallop truffle butter nigiri, lomo saltado gyoza dumplings and black cod over a lemon quinoa risotto.

    Shima

For a novel approach to sushi, swing by Shima where sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi and tempura arrive via conveyer belt on little boats on a circular track that rotates around the sushi counter. Grab what tempts your palette and enjoy. It’s kitschy and fun, the food is always fresh, and the maki keeps locals coming back for more.

    Miller’s Ale House

For a classic sports bar experience, Miller’s Ale House is a popular locals watering hole in Miami Lakes with big screen TVs, elevated bar food and plenty of craft beers on draft. It’s a convivial spot that’s open late and especially popular for groups.

    Lighthouse Yoga & Wellness

Situated in an airy, tree house-like space, Lighthouse Yoga & Wellness offers classes in a variety of yoga styles with a focus on flow, deep stretching and meditation. Founded by Claire Zovko who studied in India, she also offers Vedic Astrology readings. Join a class and experience the peaceful release of yoga in a warm community.

    Theater and Movies

Miami Lakes is home Main Street Players, a community theater company. With a legacy dating back to 1974, they produce both classic and new plays, as well as a Children’s Theater with a summer theater camp and young playwrights camp. With recent productions ranging from the Wizard of Oz to the classic Greek tragedy Medea, Main Street Players makes for an entertaining night of theater for the whole family.

If you feel like catching a movie, check out, CMX Miami Lakes 13. Sit back and relax on fully reclining leather seats and enjoy the show.
