Gateway Park & Gateway Center
Discover the heart of community living at Gateway Park, where five acres of green space merge with modern amenities. In addition to standard picnic tables and benches, Gateway Park is home to a butterfly garden, a performance stage and a community gathering space. For families, the interactive water feature and playground area are perfect spaces for the little ones to enjoy.
Shop Like A Local At Gateway Market
October through May
Add variety to your midweek schedule and visit the Gateway Market, which operates every Wednesday from October through May from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Gateway Park. The market showcases a variety of local produce, artisanal food, handcrafted goods and live music. Don't worry about parking – the Gateway Park garage has you covered.
Gateway Artway Showcases Local Talent
The recently unveiled Gateway Artway at Gateway Center was developed to celebrate art in the Sunny Isles community. It features the work of 25 different local artists. The Artway was developed as an art installation to showcase the Sunny Spaces Art Contest winners. Walk through the breezeway at 151 Sunny Isles Blvd. and experience the award-winning painted and hand-drawn works of art.
Heritage Park
Spanning four acres, Heritage Park has many amenities for rest, relaxation and recreation. With ample picnic spots and even a performance stage, there is something for everyone. The park has two expansive playgrounds and a refreshing water play area for kids. Heritage Park is home to a Veterans Wall, honoring Sunny Isles Beach residents who have served in the military.
Pelican Community Park
Pelican Community Park has been a cornerstone of Sunny Isles Beach since 2008. The park is home to several after-school initiatives and camps, sports centers and seasonal programs for all ages. There is a playground, and there are picnic tables. The Phyllis and Raanan Katz Sports Center has a full-size indoor basketball court, two half courts, a volleyball court and a concession area. The Community Center has a large fitness center. The park offers membership programs for those interested in priority program registration, discounts and use of the fitness center and basketball court.
Dog Parks
Unleash adventure for your pup at the Bone Zone at Senator Gwen Margolis Park. Located on the park's south side, this zone allows dogs to roam freely within the fenced off-leash area. The Bone Zone is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day except Wednesdays, when gates open at 10 a.m. Outside the Bone Zone, leashes are required.
Heritage Park also has a dedicated space for dogs. You'll find a leash-free area for your canine companion on the park's south side near the parking garage. Please note that dogs are not allowed in any other area of the park.
