At the Indian Village Museum, you can learn about the tribe’s rich and creative culture in an authentic setting. Here you’ll find tribal members demonstrating traditional skills such as doll making, beadwork, patchwork and basket weaving. The museum showcases artwork, tribal artifacts, photography and the government documents that granted the Miccosukee sovereignty in 1962. The exhibits also highlight the relationship between the Miccosukee and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Exhibits include clothing, paintings and cooking utensils, and you can learn about the tribe’s traditional way of life in a documentary film.
Be captivated by live alligator demonstrations and explore the Everglades on airboat rides with guides who point out wildlife and stop at an authentic hammock camp.

The Miccosukee Indian Village & Airboat Rides is located west of the Resort on Tamiami Trail in the heart of the Everglades. An authentic cultural experience, the Village is home to a museum highlighting Miccosukee history as well as traditional and contemporary Miccosukee society.
Numerous Tribal members demonstrate woodworking, beadwork, basket weaving, doll making and patchwork techniques while daily guided tours explain the significance of these traditions, the different uses of chickees.
Our world-renown alligator wrestling shows exhibit the unique relationship the Tribe has with these ancient creatures and their importance within the Everglades’ ecosystem.
Miccosukee Airboats are the best way to glide the ‘Glades and experience the magnificent “River of Grass.” Discover a typical hammock-style camp that has been owned by the same Miccosukee family for more than 100 years as our expert guides give you a glimpse into our ways of life.
