Not your average mall, Bal Harbour Shops is an open-air shopping center in the posh enclave of Bal Harbour. It’s perfectly situated across from the Atlantic Ocean and is full of luxury boutiques and world-renowned brands. Bal Harbour Shops opened in the 1960s and is currently undergoing a $550 million enhancement. It recently expanded its third floor, and guests can peruse a variety of high-end boutiques tucked away amid tropical plants, koi ponds and fountains.

What’s New at Bal Harbour Shops

The retail landscape in this premier shopping center is constantly changing, with iconic brands opening new stores. Saks Fifth Avenue recently unveiled a new ground floor that showcases handbags, jewelry and the largest women’s shoe department in Florida. The expansive, 46,000-square-foot space features 25 new brands and eight new “shop-in-shops.” Other luxury newcomers include fashionable brands like Bally, along with Haremlique Istanbul, which sells luxurious linens and home textile products, and Borsalino, one of the oldest Italian manufacturers of luxury hats. And by fall 2022, expect store openings by Ara Vartanian and Frette.

With more than 100 stores, you’ll find all the prestigious brands including Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Fendi, Gucci and Prada. While it’s hard to choose just a few, here are some of the must-visit stores at Bal Harbour Shops.


This fashion house with a rich pedigree opened its first flagship store in Miami at the Bal Harbour Shops. Shoppers are transported to Paris as they weave through a series of connected rooms meant to look like living spaces, such as a boudoir, garden and library that are dressed in sparkling chandeliers, mirrors and curtains. Balmain is known for tailored silhouettes and standout designs. You’ll find women’s and men’s apparel, handbags, denim and eyewear in the Bal Harbour store.


With a new design and boutique location on the third floor of Bal Harbour Shops, Christofle will inspire you to throw a lavish dinner party. This Parisian silversmith is the place to discover exquisite home accessories and exceptional pieces for your table. You’ll find everything from Champagne buckets to gilded egg-shaped containers for flatware.


If you want to step up your serving ware at home, this French luxury brand is meant to wow. Lalique offers breathtaking glass pieces that mimic the movement of water. You’ll find a stunning collection of glasses, tumblers and decanters, candle votives, artful sculptures and vases in the brand’s signature colors such as plum, turquoise, yellow and black.


Those who like to mix high fashion with fun will find playful clothing at Pinko, a women’s clothing store. Known for its unique and whimsical styles, Pinko offers women something to wear for every occasion, from a night on the town to relaxing at a resort. Don’t miss browsing the famous Love Bags, made with buttery leather and affixed with a buckle adorned with love birds.

While Bal Harbour is home to luxury watchmakers like Rolex, collectors will want to peruse the Richard Mille boutique for unique timepieces. The store is designed to look like the mechanism of a watch. It’s the perfect place to shop a collection of high-end watches made in Switzerland that mimic the worlds of architecture, sports and art.

Santa Maria Novella

Let your senses lead the way to Santa Maria Novella on the third floor of Bal Harbour Shops. This Florentine company, known as one of the world’s oldest pharmacies, touts botanically inspired products. You’ll want to pick up beautiful handmade soaps, perfumes, shower gels, skin care products and fragrant candles.


Need to upgrade your beach wardrobe? Zimmermann is the place. This Australian brand that’s known for its oh-so-feminine prints, flowy dresses and daring cuts is favored by celebrities such as Beyoncé and Kendall Jenner. At this boutique, you’ll find boho-chic dresses, luxury resort wear that will take you from the pool to dinner, and colorful swimwear for adults and children.
