Everything you need to know about playing mini golf in Miami

While Miami might be home to over 20 award-winning golf courses, from lavish resorts to country clubs and public greens, sometimes you’re simply in the mood for mini golf. Grab the family or a group of friends and enjoy the lighthearted fun of putt-putt golf. Whether you’ve got dreams of joining the PGA Tour or simply looking for a fun diversion, mini golf is ideal for golfers of all skill sets. Of course, the creative course designs also add to the entertainment. When you’re looking for a fun-loving and original way to spend an afternoon in Miami, consider mini golf.

Palmetto Mini Golf

Set on the historic Palmetto Golf Course in Palmetto Bay, Palmetto Mini Golf is a fun way to unwind with family or friends in an idyllic setting. Founded in 1959, the Par-70 Championship 18-hole course was designed by Dick Wilson with a serpentine canal system and tree-lined fairways. There’s also a driving range, putting green, clubhouse and pro shop. In 1967, the course was purchased by Miami-Dade County, making it one of the top public golf courses around.

As an added bonus, their 18-hole Palmetto Mini Golf course boasts waterfalls, lagoons and a cave with lush landscaping for a game that’s fun for all ages and all athletic abilities. With an outdoor covered deck and catering by onsite Sports Grill, it’s also a popular place to plan a birthday party.

While not technically mini golf, Topgolf’s driving ranges, with locations in Doral and Miami Gardens, are fun for the whole family, no matter the skill level of your golf swing. Grab the crew and reserve a climate-controlled bay at Topgolf’s driving range where you’ll score points based on how close your microchipped ball comes to the target.

The entertainment complex truly has something for everyone with golf, gaming and a seasonal menu of tasty bites, like steak nachos with chimichurri and craft cocktails. For those new to golf, you can take lessons onsite. There’s also a KidZone with clinics and coaching available to the little ones.

For true mini golf enthusiasts, the creators of Topgolf will open a three-story indoor mini golf course called Puttshack inside Brickell City Centre in early 2021.
