The Dante Fascell Visitor Center is on the only mainland portion of Biscayne National Park – a park composed of tropical keys that can only be explored by boat. Located in Homestead, the visitor center is where you’ll start your adventure into the largest marine sanctuary in the National Parks System.

Visitor Center Amenities and Activities

The park rangers at Dante Fascell Visitor Center are a great resource for planning a day-trip or overnight camping excursion in Biscayne National Park. Pick up a park map and ask the rangers any questions at the information desk inside. Park rangers also have programs and excursions you can find on the park's calendar page. Guided tours are all available on the park’s Biscayne Experience Page.

The visitor center has public restrooms and a picnic area outside. You can also use the visitor center’s canoe and kayak launch. Inside, check out short videos on park-related topics in the auditorium. Peruse the natural history and wildlife exhibit for information on the park’s birds, fish, and coral. Round out your visit with the art gallery’s rotating exhibits featuring artwork inspired by South Florida. The visitor center and park do not offer any public motorized boat launches, however, there are a few marinas near the park including the Homestead Bayfront Marina, Balck Point Marina, Matheson Hammock Marina, and Crandon Marina. Visit the Biscayne National Park page on access for boaters for more information.
