4X4 Building the Future of Dance

Four choreographers bring distinct approaches to movement and creative process to the stage at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables. Presented Saturday, November 7, 4X4: Building the Future of Dance combines performance with insight into how choreography develops from an initial idea into movement, structure, texture and emotional tone.

Dancers from the Sanctuary of the Arts Choreographic Ensemble collaborate with each choreographer to realize four separate works, adapting to different methods and artistic visions throughout the program. The format gives audiences a closer look at the decisions, experimentation and collaboration involved in creating contemporary dance.

Returning to Sanctuary of the Arts, 4X4 is designed for both experienced dance audiences and newcomers interested in seeing how choreography takes shape from concept to performance.
