808 Life: Egyptian Lover
Aug 08, 2026
Starting: 11:00 PM
Classic West Coast electro, Miami bass and underground club sounds take over Floyd Miami for a late-night 808-focused lineup. The 21+ event takes place Saturday, August 8, with doors at 11 p.m. Located next to Club Space, Floyd will host the event as a separate ticketed experience that does not include access to the Club Space Terrace.
The lineup is led by The Egyptian Lover, the stage name of Gregory James Broussard, a Los Angeles musician, producer and DJ closely associated with early electro, hip-hop and the Roland TR-808 drum machine. A member of the influential Uncle Jam’s Army collective, he helped shape the sound of West Coast electro in the 1980s with releases such as “Egypt, Egypt” and the album On the Nile.
The night also features Roll-e, SEL.6, Soltek, Shade and DB Cooper, with Roll-e and SEL.6 scheduled for a back-to-back set. SEL.6, a South Florida DJ and producer, is known for high-energy “Floridacore” sets that move through techno, electro, bass, jungle and related underground sounds.
