Ancient wisdom and contemporary dialogue converge in an immersive evening of music and conversation at Plant the Future in Little River.
“Ancestral Technology” with Chief Mapu & Giselle World takes place Wednesday, April 1. The program begins with a live panel featuring Chief Mapu Huni Kuin, Giselle World, Betsy Schrader and Marilia Moreno of Two Worlds One Planet, and Melissa Gala of Meet Aya FLA. Together, they explore the intersection of Indigenous knowledge, ecological stewardship and modern life.
The evening continues with a full moon concert by Chief Mapu and Giselle World. Chief Mapu Huni Kuin, an Indigenous leader of the Huni Kuin people of the Brazilian Amazon, is recognized internationally for his advocacy, storytelling and musical collaborations, including the Grammy-nominated project The Future is Ancestral. Giselle World is a performing artist, composer and medicine woman known for her work with Indigenous communities across the Americas, blending song, flute and cultural education in ceremonial and concert settings.
Hosted in the outdoor garden at Plant the Future, the event invites guests to gather in a natural setting that complements the themes of environmental awareness and spiritual ecology. Arrival begins at 6 p.m., with the panel scheduled from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., followed by the concert.
Seating is limited; guests are encouraged to bring a cushion. On-site parking is minimal, and carpooling or rideshare is recommended. Plant the Future’s café will offer beverages and light bites.
