Asylum IV

A marathon night of underground music and performance collapses hardcore, metal, shoegaze, experimental DJ culture and sideshow art into a single, late-running takeover on Miami Beach.

Asylum IV takes place on Saturday, January 24 at Sand Bar on Miami Beach. Structured as a multi-phase event, the evening moves from live bands and performance art into a DJ-driven after-hours stretch, creating a continuous arc that favors intensity, abrasion and subcultural crossover.

The live lineup spans several corners of South Florida’s alternative underground. Performers include hardcore and metal acts Kill Castle, Lacerate, Dead By Dawn and Buried Within, alongside shoegaze project Shivva and experimental performers Medicine Room and Buried Within, each contributing distinct sonic and visual identities rooted in distortion, theatricality and emotional extremity. Sideshow artist Ground Zero anchors the performance component with a circus-informed drag king act that blends illusion, body manipulation and shock-based spectacle.

After 11 p.m., the night shifts toward electronic and club-adjacent sounds with DJ sets from Ghovvl, Crazypiiink, Crazy Pink, and a back-to-back from Aphex Tw1nk and Lady Narcisse, whose collaborations move between Jersey club, jungle, bass and experimental dance music. Together, the lineup reflects Miami’s DIY ecosystems rather than any single genre or scene.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with live performances beginning at 8 p.m. and DJs taking over late into the night. The event is all ages.
