Banned Books Week: Libro.fm Read-In

Readers can settle in for an hour of shared quiet reading followed by conversation during a Banned Books Week edition of The (Silent) Reading Party at Books & Books in Coral Gables. Presented Sunday, October 4 by the Books & Books Literary Foundation and Libro.fm, the gathering invites participants to bring their own book or choose one at the store before reading together for 30 to 60 minutes. A group discussion follows, with prompts focused on censorship, speech and freedom of expression.
Hosted by Books & Books Social Media Manager Alyssa Expósito, the evening also includes a complimentary audiobook from Libro.fm for each guest, with a choice between Banned Together and How to Defend Books and Why.
The event is free and open to the public. Advance RSVP is requested due to limited space.
