Beyond the Pages: Hawaii Says “Aloha”
Apr 23, 2027
From: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Poetry and woodcut illustrations present an early 20th-century view of Hawaii’s landscapes, traditions and everyday life. The discussion takes place Friday, April 23 at The Wolfsonian-FIU in Miami Beach. Part of the museum’s Beyond the Pages series, the program examines Don Blanding’s Hawaii Says “Aloha” through themes and visual materials represented in The Wolfsonian’s collection.
Chief librarian Frank Luca will lead the conversation, exploring how Blanding’s poems and images shaped popular perceptions of the islands and reflected the cultural context of their time.
The program is free with advance registration.
