BLUE Concert: Devotion Meets the Symphony
Mar 18, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
A participatory concert at the New World Center on Miami Beach brings together Western classical music and the devotional practice of kirtan in an immersive performance that invites audience engagement.
BLUE Concert: Devotion Meets the Symphony takes place Wednesday, March 18 at the New World Center on Miami Beach and is presented by the New World Symphony. The program blends orchestral repertoire with kirtan, a call-and-response form of devotional chanting rooted in Indian musical tradition, creating a cross-cultural experience that dissolves the traditional separation between performers and listeners.
Designed as an interactive performance, the concert encourages audiences to take an active role in the musical journey, emphasizing shared sound, rhythm and reflection. The project is part of the New World Symphony’s BLUE initiative, which supports experimentation, leadership development and creative exploration among NWS Fellows.
Tickets are offered on a pay-what-you-wish basis, with proceeds supporting the professional development of New World Symphony Fellows.
